KFC sells Zinger burgers and Twisters for $1 as part of left-handed menu

Publish date: 2024-06-06

A fast food giant is offering a range of cheap feeds – and it all has to do with a new campaign to honour left-handed people.

KFC has launched a new “left-handed menu” in a bid to recognise the 11 per cent of Aussies who are southpaws – and to celebrate, from October 20 for 11 days, items on the menu will be offered super cheap at 1pm AEDT on its app.

If you’re one of the first 11,000 people, you can grab a treat at an incredibly low price – such as a $1 Zinger, $1 popcorn chicken or $1 Twister.

The offer stems from an ad campaign in the 1980s which used the slogan: “We do chicken right.” The fast food giant now says the slogan clearly showed “favouritism” to right-handed people – and wants to make amends.

KFC chief marketing officer Sally Spriggs said: “At KFC, we believe everyone has a seat at the table, and no one should be left out, but we’ll admit that we’ve been guilty of unknowingly favouring the right-handers over the years.

“So, we’re thrilled to be launching the world’s first left-handed KFC to make sure no one gets left out.

“To make the most of our new left-handed menu, fans need to jump on the KFC app over the next 11 days to discover which of their favourite feeds we’ll be offering at unbelievable prices.

“And, while we won’t turn any right-handers away, we recommend using your left hand for the finest eating experience.”

The limited time offer expires on October 30.
