Mrs Brown's Boys Live and Uncensored This Saturday

Publish date: 2024-06-29

Everyone’s favourite Mammy returns to our T.V screens this Saturday for a special live edition of the hysterical comedy.

Since bursting on to television in 2011 Mrs Brown’s Boys has gained a huge nationwide audience with both fan and critical acclaim. The show which was created by Brendan O’Carroll even became a box office hit after the movie ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys D’ Movie’ topped the charts back in 2014.

But now the hit sitcom which is filmed in front of a live audience and usually pre-recorded ahead of broadcast on the BBC will be being aired totally live and uncensored.

Unlike other live broadcasts the BBC have decided against using a 5 second swear delay so the cast will have to be on their very best behaviour. Speaking to Radio Times about the BBC allowing the sitcom to be uncensored Brendan said:  “I said ‘Oh!, because I know what I’m going to do out there but I don’t know what Mrs Brown is going to do. I do get told sometimes to watch the swearing, I always say: I wish you hadn’t told me because now I’m going to do it.”

Fans of the show will no doubt be hoping for a few swear words from the much loved Irish mother and grandmother as she makes her live TV debut.

Mrs Brown’s Boys live will be on BBC 1 and RTE One this Saturday (23rd July) from 9.45pm. Make sure you tune in for plenty of laughs from Mrs Brown and her family.
