Walking Dead Webisodes Will Count Down The Weeks Until The Premiere

Are you going stir crazy while waiting for the return of AMC’s acclaimed zombie drama, The Walking Dead? It’s perfectly understandable given the prison and Michonne and the Governor and the fact that the upcoming season does not seem to consist of people arguing on a farm and Carl wandering off yet again. Fear not! Starting on October 1st, AMC will be posting a series of four webisodes to lead into the third-season premiere.
It’s interesting to note that the webisodes will not involve any of the pre-existing cast. Pop Candy reports that the webisodes — dubbed Cold Storage — will instead focus on new characters, including one played by Daniel “Doc Arzt” Roebuck from Lost. The webisodes are being directed by Greg Nicotero, the Emmy-winning special effects makeup producer who helps make the show’s zombies look appropriately undead.
Here’s a short synopsis of the Cold Storage webisodes:
Cold Storage tells the story of a young man, Chase (played by Josh Stewart), trying to reach his sister in the early days of the zombie apocalypse. He finds temporary shelter in a storage facility run by a former employee named B.J. (Roebuck); however, things are not what they appear.
One question that isn’t answered is whether these webisodes will simply be a short, self-contained story, or if some or all of the characters introduced will show up during the third season. A quick scan of Roebuck’s IMDb page doesn’t show him credited for the show, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything.
The four five-minute Cold Storage webisodes are set to launch on October 1st. The story doesn’t specify where the webisodes will be posted, but we’re betting AMC’s website will at the very least direct you to them once they’re posted.
